The BMWE-funded project MERIT (Future Markets for Electricity: Risk, Investment and Trading) has started at the DSEE chair. It develops innovative methodological approaches for modeling and assessing price risks in liberalized electricity markets in the context of the energy transition.

The project integrates a solid understanding of energy markets with data-driven methods to systematically analyze price fluctuations, uncertainties, and their impact on investment decisions. The goal is to provide robust decision-making foundations for market participants and policymakers and to support sustainable market design and risk management. The project partner is Jun.-Prof. Dr. Michael Bucksteeg (EWI)
